Beautiful harbor with many ships that go to all places around Lake Constance. Very nice experience. The captain and crew are also very nice.
The lake itself is incredibly beautiful!
Here you can relax beautifully, with a wonderful view towards Lindau, Pfänden and the open-air stage. Lake Constance is in front of you, and in good weather the Swiss Alps are in front of you. Very nice corner.
beautifully made, not too big and not too small. Nice peninsula to look around. There is even a swimming area in the direction of the Sporboothafen. Adjacent to the ticket office are numerous “food stalls”, also with seating. It may only be like this on weekends.
Beautiful panorama, everything very well maintained and clean. From there everything is very well signposted.
Bregenz is often forgotten by visitors to Lake Constance; Lindau, Friedrichshafen, Meersburg and Konstanz are often mentioned. But Bregenz has a lot to offer that many people don't consider. Have fun discovering.
I love the port of Bregenz on the Bodensee in Austria, which is a spacious, clean, sunny, fun and interesting port that meets all needs. It manages the boat traffic of three countries on Lake Constance, such as: its own, i.e. Austria, Germany and Switzerland - in perfect agreement, with exact departures and arrivals. The wave-shaped ticket office of the ships is located directly in the port, a beautiful modern glass building.
The railway station is also in the harbor, right next to it, with several stops, two railway crossings and an underground crossing, which exits from the other side of the main road, i.e. from the city, and from the nearby open car park.
- if you are facing the open door of the port ticket office, you can wait for the ships by walking directly to the right or get on. This part is actually a spacious, sunny waiting area, of course there is also a restaurant nearby. I always admire the Sönnenkönigin here, which usually stands there. Very nice ship!
- if you stand opposite the ticket office, next to it, or walk behind it to the right, you can also walk to the light tower of Bregenz, a very pleasant, flowery, benched, or on the other side of the small grassy area, on the multi-level, long stone bench, where the water of Lake Constance constantly pours out, because the boats come and go here. At this end of the harbor there is a light gate that also lights up at night, as well as a beautiful large tree at the end of the long clearing.
You can also walk out to the Bregenz lighthouse, that is the end of the harbor, but it is not as beautiful as, for example, from Lindau! In addition, Lake Constance is really wild in that part, be very careful with the children, because I don't think the gaps in the railing are safe. The Bregenz lighthouse is only a beautiful sight in the evening, but not up close, but from afar, as its light is projected onto the water.
We always walk to the big tree, sit there on the multi-level stone benches and just stare at the sunrays playing on the water and the lake traffic. The environment here is very pleasant and relaxing, but I would also like to add that the water here is also very high, it always reaches the safety barrier and constantly splashes onto the shore, which is beautiful, but also dangerous, and the stone steps are slippery!
From the port, the view of the Pfänder, the 1064 m high mountain of Bregenz, and the other part of the port can also be seen.
- if you start to the left of the port ticket office, you will go through a nice long promenade, also by the lake, which is full of shady trees, pedal boat rentals, large green areas, two playgrounds and catering units - you will also reach the lakeside stage, where you can also enter freely if you there is no performance (because then only with a ticket) and it is worth visiting, because the lake stage is a special attraction of the port.
It reminds me, sky ships, that is, airships, also frequent this place :)
